Allday elected to Old Friends board

Equine veterinarian and health care entrepreneur Dr. Steven Allday has been elected to the board of Old Friends, the Thoroughbred retirement group based out of Georgetown, Ky.

“Dr. Allday has already been a valuable contributor to the health and welfare of our horses, and I know he will be a tremendous asset to the board,” said Michael Blowen, who founded Old Friends in 2002. The organization now cares for more than 120 horses, with farms in Georgetown, Ky., and Greenfield Center, N.Y.

Allday has specialized in equine sports medicine, focusing on Thoroughbreds, for more than 25 years. He has treated Horse of the Year honorees A.P. Indy, Cigar, and Favorite Trick, along with the winners of 13 Triple Crown events and 29 Breeders' Cup races.
Allday is the founder and CEO of Halstrum, LLC, makers of the equine joint care supplements LubriSyn and LubriSyn CA, and of Re-Borne, Inc., makers of Re-Borne, a unique formulation of bovine colostrums that is a natural alternative to antibiotics, steroids and hormones in both equines and bovines.

“I am so excited to be a member of the Old Friends team,” Allday said. “The continuous care of Thoroughbreds beyond their racing and breeding careers is imperative to the industry and I am looking forward to upholding its mission.”
