All Wired Up wire to wire


All Wired Up, cleared quickly under Marlon St. Julien, and then led throughout to capture Thursday night's $75,000 Peninsula Gaming Inaugural at Evangeline Downs by 4 1/2 lengths in track record time.

Believe Im Special outfinished Zarb's Luck for the place by a head. It was three-quarters of a length farther back to favored Britt's Jules, who reported home fourth.

"I let him roll out of the gate and he actually surprised me a little by clearing off so easily," said St. Julien. "When I asked him the question in midstretch, he really gave me his all and was as strong in the final furlong as he was in the first furlong."

Trained by Brandon Marks for Carrol Castille, All Wired Up ($10.80) covered the five furlongs in 57.58 seconds, lowering the five-furlong mark set last April. The victory was the 3-year-old son of Wire Me Collect's third in six starts and his second stakes win. The winner's share of $45,000 increased his career bankroll to just over $100,000.
