All Night Labor wins fourth in row

Email

All Night Labor stretched her win streak to four in a row, capturing the $75,000 Bristol Stakes at Philadelphia Park with a perfect stalk, pounce, and hold-off-the-closers ride by Stewart Elliott.

Bet down from 4-1 on the morning line to 9-5 at the starting bell, All Night Labor sat a length or so outside the pacesetting Kourages Kelly through modest fractions of 23.85 seconds for the quarter-mile and 47.69 for the half in the mile and 70-yard race for fillies and mares. All Night Labor took the lead at the quarter pole and hit the wire a length in front of the late-closing 8-5 favorite, Lil's Lass. J.D. Safari, longest shot on the board at 16-1, closed for third, another head behind in the field of six.

All Night Labor was timed in 1:43.26 and paid $5.80 as the second choice.

Lil's Lass stumbled at the start, spotting the others three or four lengths at the start, and raced wide much of the way.

Trained by Randy Nunley for the Porter Racing Stable, All Night Labor - a 4-year-old homebred sired by Double Honor - raised her record to 7 wins, 5 seconds, and 1 third in 18 starts and $263,930 in earnings.
