All I Can Get formidable as usual

MUSKEGON, Mich. - All I Can Get seeks his third straight stakes win in Tuesday's $50,000 Mackinac Handicap at Great Lakes Downs.

Seven Michigan-bred colts and geldings will take on All I Can Get, last year's Michigan-bred 2-year-old champion, in the 1o1/16-mile Mackinac.

All I Can Get, owned by Michael McQuade and trained by Gerald Bennett, is the highweight at 124 pounds, which will include regular rider Freddie Mata, the meet's leading jockey.

A homebred Slew City Slew gelding, All I Can Get has won 5 of 6 starts here, including four stakes, most recently the Spartan and Dowling stakes. His lone loss here came in June's Lansing Stakes, when he was squeezed back in midstretch and lost by two lengths.

J. P.'s Big Boy, a recent allowance winner at Mountaineer Race Track in only his fourth start, will ship here for owner Todd Weddon. Trainer Scott Sowle has named regular rider Mary Doser aboard J. P.s Big Boy, who is based at Turfway Park. He gets in at 115 pounds.

Lite Legacy, at 118 pounds, finished the closest to All I Can Get in the Dowling, albeit by 12 lengths. He won the Michigan Futurity last season. Mike Allen retains the mount for trainer Ron Allen.
