Alexandrova romps in 'Oaks'

Alexandrova destroyed her foes in the Group 1 Vodafone Oaks for 3-year-old fillies. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, the daughter of Sadler's Wells rallied powerfully in the stretch to win going away. Speciosa, the popular winner of the 1000 Guineas at a mile in her last start, made the running pressed by Time On. Speciosa put Time On away with 2 1/2 furlongs to run, but she found the twelve furlong distance too demanding, and faltered badly in the stretch to finish off the board. Rising Cross finished second while Short Skirt completed the trifecta behind the 2-1 favored winner.
