Email

Airdrie Stud will raise stud fees on two of its 11 stallions next year, the Midway, Ky., farm announced Tuesday.

Proud Citizen and Badge of Silver will both get fee raises, but the farm’s other sires will remain at their 2011 levels. Proud Citizen, sire of 2012 Kentucky Oaks winner Believe You Can and Grade 2 winners Mark Valeski and Vamo a Galupiar, goes from $10,000 to $15,000 for 2013. Badge of Silver – whose 2012 runners include multiple graded winner Silver Max, graded winner Silver Medallion, and Super Derby runner-up Fly Lexis Fly – rises from $6,000 to $7,500.

the farm also will introduce first-year stallion Creative Cause at $15,000, as announced earlier this week.

Airdrie’s other sires and their 2013 fees are Brother Derek, $7,500; Divine Park, $10,000; Flashy Bull, $10,000; Haynesfield, $10,000; Include, $12,500; Istan, $3,500; Majesticperfection, $8,500; and Stevie Wonderboy, $5,000.

All fees are live foal guaranteed and are payable on stands-and-nurses terms.

Correction: A previous version of this article transposed the stud fees for Proud Citizen and Badge of Silver, and misidentified one of Badge of Silver's runners. He is Silver Max, not Super Max.
