Aga Khan mares booked to American Pharoah

Two more mares from one of the world’s most prominent breeders reportedly have been added to what is already an outstanding first book for Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

The Racing Post first reported that Ridasiyna and Dalayna, based in the U.S. for the Aga Khan’s broodmare band, were booked to the champion, standing at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky.

Ridasiyna, a daughter of Motivator, won the Group 1 Prix de l’Opera and Group 3 Prix Chloe in France. Her oldest foal is a yearling colt by War Front.

Dalayna, by Anabaa, was multiple stakes-placed in Europe, and this will be her first foal. She is a half-sister to Group 3 winner and group stakes producer Daltaya. They are out of a full sister to the champion Daylami, to Prix de l’ Arc de Triomphe winner and champion Dalakhani, to steeplechase champion Dalawan, and two other graded/group performers.

American Pharoah has attracted a fair amount of international interest, with other European outfits committing mares to his book and Japanese-based interests purchasing mares for him at the major Kentucky breeding stock sales.
