Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs Kentucky in Paris, Ky. has released the 2014 fees for its nine-horse stallion roster, and a pair of its leading residents received increases.

Ghostzapper, the 2004 Horse of the Year, will stand for $50,000 after posting a fee of $40,000 last year. The 13-year-old son of Awesome Again has been represented this year by 15 stakes winners, including Grade 1 winners Better Lucky and Starship Truffles, Grade 2 winners Moreno, Schiaparelli, Hear the Ghost, and Judy the Beauty, and Grade 3 winner Za Approval. The latter two posted runner-up finishes last week in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and the Breeders’ Cup Mile, respectively.

Also seeing an increase will be Macho Uno, the sire of last week’s Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Mucho Macho Man, whose fee rises from $20,000 to $30,000. His other successful runners of 2013 include Grade 1 winner Private Zone, Grade 2 winner Mucho Mas Macho, and Grade 3 winners Overheard and Silsita.

Awesome Again, the farm’s cornerstone stallion, will again stand for $75,000. The veteran sire was represented by his first classic winner this year when Oxbow took the Preakness Stakes last May; he is also the sire of Game On Dude, a three-time Grade 1 winner in 2013.

Adena Springs will also add two new stallions to its Kentucky location for the 2014 season. Fort Larned, winner of the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Classic and fourth this year, will stand for an advertised fee of $20,000 for his debut season. Point of Entry, the multiple Grade 1-winning turf standout, will open with a fee of $25,000.

Returning to Adena Springs Kentucky after three seasons at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in New York are Alphabet Soup and Touch Gold, who will both stand for $5,000.

“We are extremely excited about our 2014 Kentucky stallion roster”, said Adena Springs’ general manager Eric Hamelback. “To have four individual Breeders’ Cup Classic winners and the sire of this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic winner all in the same stallion barn is an incredible achievement, and a tribute to Frank Stronach’s vision and philosophy.

“Our nine Kentucky-based stallions are all Grade 1-winning millionaires, and they come from a wide variety of bloodlines and will be available to breeders at every level of the market,” Hamelback continued. “The Stronachs’ mission is always to breed to race, and with Awesome Again, Ghostzapper and Macho Uno we will stand three of the current top 15 sires on the general sires list.”
