ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Longshot Acting Deputy mowed down Dreams Go Bye in deep stretch en route to a daylight victory in Sunday's at Woodbine.

It was the first stakes triumph for Acting Deputy, who returned $22 with Todd Kabel aboard. "She ran a very game race," said Kabel. "When I called on her turning for home, she really responded."

Dreams Go Bye out-sprinted the other speed in the seven-horse field of fillies and mares, and set uncontested splits of :21.84 and :45.13 seconds. Acting Deputy stalked the pace and overhauled Dreams Go Bye at the 70-yard pole, before drawing off for a length and a quarter win.

Fleet of Foot, the 2-1 favorite, broke slowly and then mounted a steady rally to finish another length and a quarter back in third. The final time was :58.11 seconds.

Acting Deputy earned $64,200 for the Alpine Stable and trainer Vito Armata, who claimed her for $45,000 last Nov. 7.
