LEXINGTON, Ky. - As of 5 p.m., a $220,000 Irish River mare, Fiamma, was the fifth-session leader on Friday at Keeneland's November breeding stock sale.

Hug Merry Bloodstock signed for the mare, who is a 6-year-old stakes-placed winner. Brookdale Farm, agent, sold Fiamma, whose first foal is a 2001 Real Quiet filly.

On Thursday, the 10-day auction'`s fourth session sold 225 lots for $12,725,100, yielding an average price of $56,556 and a median of $40,000.

Thursday's top seller was Takesmybreathaway, a 3-year-old Gone West filly who brought $420,000 as a broodmare prospect. Unplaced in two career starts, the filly is out of the Seattle Slew mare Oscillate, making her a half-sister to European stakes-winner Mutakddim and Grade 1-placed Smooth Charmer. Ned Toffey, agent, signed the ticket for buyer John Manganaro.

Fitzgerald/Keogh consigned the filly on behalf of Abergwaun Farm.

Thursday's top-priced weanling was a $280,000 Stravinsky colt out of Sintanous (Danzig). Bradley and Bowden, agent, purchased the colt from the consignment of Denali Stud (Craig Bandoroff), agent. The bay colt is a half-brother to Japanese stakes-winner Raise Suzuran and to Bolivae, dam of stakes-placed Sir Andrew Chandlr.

The Keeneland sale continues through Nov. 15.

* The 9-year-old Copelan-Lively Maid (Lord Rebeau) mare Twist a Lime brought $225,000 to top Thursday evening's single session of the Adena Springs broodmare sale at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington. J. S. McDonald signed for the stakes-placed mare, who is the dam of Grade 2 stakes-winner Speed Gun. Twist a Lime sold in foal to Touch Gold and was offered with a season to Adena Springs stallion Golden Missile.
