Scrolled back to read early comments on contenders for the Preakness. Solidifies, my assessment that,,trainers,,jockeys, and racing columnists, are terrible handicappers. Not one, had Oxbow on the board. They should have had the foresight to observe, there was no speed in the race, and Oxbow was free to take the early lead and never look back. Goodjob,Lukas,Stevens, and Calumet. And of course,"OXBOW".

Reminiscent of Stevens ride on Winning Colors in the 1988 Kentucky Derby.

I guess running the KD in the slop doesn't take as much out of a horse as most thought, top four preakness finishers run 2 wks ago....now we know who can do 9 1/2 and 10 furlongs..lets see in 3 wks who can do 12...My early pick....Mylute!

Gary Stevens teaching how to bring out the best of the horses he rides in wins and in defeat in Horse Racing 101.He reemerges from a generation of elite jockeys during his preretirement days and teach and bring up the level of present jockeys. He brings out the best of your bet betting on horses he rides. He is a legend not only during his prime but still now.

What's that deafening sound? Thundering hooves approaching fast? Oh no. It's the crowd jumping off the Orb bandwagon.
