18 trial races set for Heritage Place Futurity

Remington Park will run 18 trial races for the $1 million Heritage Place Quarter Horse Futurity on Friday and Saturday night, with the five fastest qualifiers from each program advancing to the May 29 finale. Each trial will be run over 350 yards, and each has a purse of $11,000.

Llano Teller, the undefeated winner of the Grade 1 Remington Park Quarter Horse Futurity, will run in the 10th race Friday night. He is 3 for 3 for trainer Jeffrey Reed. Other top horses on the Friday night program include A Snowy Cartel, the undefeated winner of the Grade 1 Manor Downs Futurity who goes in race 6, and Endless Ocean, the undefeated winner of the Grade 2 Harrah's Futurity who runs in race 4.

Make Mine Zoom, the undefeated winner of the Grade 2 Longhorn Futurity, is among the top horses set to start on Saturday night's trial card, in race 4. The Heritage Place, which is a Grade 1, is the richest race in Oklahoma.

* Jess Jones set a world record for 660 yards on a straightaway last Saturday night at Remington, when he won an optional claiming race in 32.37 seconds. Cody Jensen was aboard the winner for J.D. Anderson and trainer Monty Brooks. The previous record was 32.49, set in 2007 by Thats the Man. That mark also came at Remington.
