$160K for colt by Tactical Cat leads at Ocala

A $160,000 Tactical Cat colt who was among the under-tack show's fastest workers led early selling Tuesday at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s April 2-year-old sale in Ocala, Fla. The auction opened Tuesday and was to run through Friday.

Adam Lewis purchased the Florida-bred colt, who is out of the Fortunate Prospect mare Yes My Queen. The John Fennessy Stables agency offered the gray or roan colt as Hip No. 58. He had breezed three-eighths of a mile in 34.40 seconds at the April 18 under-tack preview. That tied the day's fastest work at the distance.

Hip No. 58 was one of six horses to sell for six figures by 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The auction was to continue Wednesday with its second session beginning at 10:30 a.m.
