$119,782 pick six carryover at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. - An upset winner in a turf race helped create a pick six carryover of $119,782 for Saturday's 10-race program at Del Mar, but one of the shortest prices of the program will not be starting.

Saturday's pick six changed considerably on Friday night when trainer Neil Drysdale indicated that Irish Prize, the morning-line favorite, will be scratched on Saturday. Drysdale said he would like to wait for the Atto Mile at Woodbine in September for Irish Prize, who has won four stakes this year.

The winners of Friday's pick six races were Manly Valentine ($8.80), Thewholebag ($67.80), Widow Black ($9.20), Spanish Ranch ($36.40), Thady Quill ($10.40), and Bob's Bundle ($7). None were favored.

Here are the changes in Saturday's pick six races.

In the fifth race, scratch Big Big House.

In the sixth race, Power Wing is scratched.

In the seventh, the $400,000 Eddie Read Handicap, the new favorite is likely to be Timboroa, who was third in the Charles Whittingham Handicap at Hollywood Park in June.

In the eighth race, Presidio Heights and Sixoutasix are scratched. As a result, Riyadh City and Sign of Fire draw in from the also-eligible list.

Iggy Puglisi will ride Legendary Weave.

In the ninth race, there are no changes.

IN the tenth race, the horses on the also-eligible list have been scratched.
