100 straight losses for 16-year-old

Quixall Crossett extended his lifetime losing streak to 100 at Southwell on Saturday, being eased after the 10th fence in a maiden steeplechase race.

Quixall Crossett, a 16-year-old gelding, was cheered by a large group of fans who had come out to the track in Nottinghamshire for his first start in nearly six months. But he raced at the back of the pack before being pulled up.

Trainer Ted Caine said that Quixall Crossett could run once or twice more before retiring.
