Horseplayers Expo Handicapping Contest

9:30 a.m. to approx. 3:00 p.m. Pacific time

1. Entry Fee $100 (one hundred dollars). Limit one entry per person.
2. Attendees AND panelists at the Horseplayers Expo may enter the contest.
3. Registration and entry fees will be accepted by mail to DRF Expo 2004, Daily Racing Form, 100 Broadway - 7 th floor, New York, N.Y. 10005. Entries may accompany Horseplayers Expo registrations or be mailed separately. Participants may also sign up in person upon arrival at the Horseplayers Expo on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 26-27. Entry fees accepted in the form of credit card, cashier's check, money order, personal check, or in cash in person at the Expo. Mailed entry fees must be mailed and postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2004. Please do not send cash through the mail. 4. Each entrant will be issued a contestant number to be used for all wagers. Contest entry identification will be issued at the time of registration. This I.D. will be required for each contest wager. Entrant must be present when making contest wagers. No person shall directly or indirectly act as an intermediary, transmitter or agent in placing wagers for the contestant, unless authorized by the tournament host and for good reasons shown.
5. Entry fees will not be refunded, unless management cancels contest.
6. The contest is a one-day event, with cash prizes awarded to the top total point earners. The contest is based on points with each dollar worth one point. The overall winners are the contestants with the most total points. In the case of ties for any position, the prize money for the applicable places will be divided equally among the contestants that tied.
7. The format is as follows. Contestants are given 10 vouchers worth $6 contest dollars each ($2 WPS), and must wager one voucher per race on 10 different contest races using the win/place/show format. One $2 WPS voucher must be used on each contest play on only one horse per race.
8. Contestants will use betting slips when making contest wagers. It is the contestant's responsibility to make sure their contest ticket is accurate. No points will be credited on a contest wager that has not been accepted into the contest wagering system regardless of the circumstances. Contest wagers will be accepted at the contest location only.
9. Contestants can play their choice of any 10 races from either or both of the designated contest tracks. Tracks open for play in the contest will be Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park. There is no minimum or maximum amount of plays that must be made at either track, and there will be no mandatory races.
10. In the event a contestant has made less than 10 contest plays, all remaining outstanding wagers will be void and the contestant will receive zero points for the non-wagered race(s).
11. All wagers must be placed by three (3) minutes to post. The participant is responsible for ensuring that a contest wager be accepted regardless of the circumstances. No points shall be credited for any wager that has not been accepted by the computer system.
12. In the event of a cancellation at one of the contest tracks, a replacement track may (or may not) be included in the contest if determined appropriate.
13. Scratches: You must return to the contest window prior to post time and have your scratch voided in order to rebet. Scratches not voided will be refunded to your betable dollars. In the event of a scratch in the last available contest race of the day, you will receive post time favorite.
14. Any unused wagers at the end of the contest are worth zero and will not be credited to a contestant's total or refunded.
15. No "must go" entry or "must go" turf wagers will be accepted.
16. Contest points are based on full track odds up to the following limits.
  WIN- 25/1  PLACE - 12/1  SHOW - 6/1
17. Contestants must be at least 21 years of age or older.
18. All contestants grant permission to Park Place Entertainment and Daily Racing Form to use their name and photograph for publicity purposes.
19. All official track rulings will apply to the horses wagered on in this contest except as otherwise stipulated. Contest dollars will be awarded based on official placement and mutuels at each designated track.
20. Contest Tracks may include but are not limited to Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park. In the event of a track cancellation, or for whatever reason deemed necessary, management reserves the right to add, delete or substitute tracks.
21. Any dispute must be filed by 3:30 p.m. following the contest. All results are official by 4:00 p.m. Pacific time.
22. In the event of human or mechanical error, management will make a decision that is fair to all parties involved. In the event of a dispute, management's decision is final.
23. The hosts reserve the right to limit entries, change, or cancel the contest at anytime. If a cancellation occurs, entry fees are refunded.
24. Park Place Entertainment Employees and their families are not eligible to compete in this contest.
25. Prize structure based on 100 entries. Prize money will be reduced or increased proportionately for the number of entrants under or over 100. One Hundred percent of all entry fees will be returned to the winners in the form of prize money.
