Sunday's Race of the Day:

United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park

Pick 5 Analysis by Kenny Peck

RACE 6: Going to go four deep in this opening leg, a sprint for statebreds: BAT CAVE (#2) CHEDDAR CHUB (#6) and ELTHAM (#9) are all "closers" out of the same race; and LOVERBIL (#4), the top choice, makes his first start off the claim for a barn which wins at 43% with same (4).

RACE 7: MICHAEL WITH US (#2) has been idle since October but he meets lesser here. STATE FLAG (#4) has Beyers which put him in the middle of this. GLOBAL ASSET (#5) has a big shot at a big price, coming off a deceptively good effort. LOTS OF LOVE MOM (#6) is the main speed and a threat to steal it. SHORT SHRIFT (#8) chased a loose speed in his latest. CHEYENNE NATION (#9) is a dangerous NY ship-in (6).

RACE 8: FAKE DREAMS (#1) is better than his latest, as he was against a bias there; his effort two back may be more indicative of his ability. CHUNNEL (#5) merits respect off his lone dirt Beyer to date. TRULY A CHAMP (#10) makes his third start off the layoff, and he can improve off his latest given a stalking trip. GADGET MAN (#12) posted a Beyer in his maiden win that makes him a threat in his first start vs. winners (4).

RACE 9: Standing alone with PICOZZA (#4), who was hurt by race flow in his latest. He was a beaten favorite there and in his prior start but that American Turf field was deep, and he had early trouble. Might simply be too good for these (1).

RACE 10: CODE WEST (#8) was behind Itsmyluckyday last time but he had a more difficult trip than that rival. He should get a better set-up in the Salvator Mile today. He's my top pick, and my lone "A" play, but for the purposes of this ticket I'll also include VALID (#10) as an equal play. He's dangerous as the main speed, and should be included if the bankroll allows (2).

THE PLAY: 2, 4, 6, 9 / 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 / 1, 5, 10, 12 / 4 / 8, 10 = 192 Combinations ($96 Ticket)
