Fifth Race
1. Corail 2. Girluphigh 3. Liquid Lunch
CORAIL is a half-sister to Meteore, who never raced on dirt but earned $292k including a score in grassy La Jolla Stakes; bullet gate work last week. GIRLUPHIGH couldn't seriously meance 3-5 shot Can't Explain in June 20 bow; takes on another Todd Pletcher-trained rival after nice blowout the other day. LIQUID LUNCH set pressured pace from rail when bet to 7-5 for debut; $300k April purchase moves outside and gets Lasix.
Sixth Race
1. Southbeachsandy 2. Ampersand 3. Gimme Credit
If switched to dirt (at 7 furlongs), SOUTHBEACHSANDY returns off promising works at Fair Hill, and ran one of his best races to win allowance sprint out of the chute here last summer; handles any footing. On turf, AMPERSAND is a deep closer who may find a mile a tad short, but he is okay with a little cut in the ground; stock rose when Majestic Raffy came back to beat open company at 17-1 Sunday. GIMME CREDIT a 9YO who was reclaimed from second start of the season; owns all five of field's one-mile turf wins, Castellano was aboard for last four victories.
Seventh Race
1. Princess Malia 2. Red Code 3. Leroi's Royal Lass
PRINCESS MALIA gained experience with a faster pace when brought back from a freshening July 1, and may be sharper after that effort; well within herself in maiden win over RED CODE. The latter was no match for Princess Malia on May 13, but was claimed that day, and two starts later overcame post 12 to win decisively; gets blinkers after lugging in through the lane. LEROI'S ROYAL LASS fits well with the local fillies off her debut victory at Colonial Downs; it might be best to forgive her latest on a synthetic surface if she gets in from the also-eligible list with leading rider.
Eighth Race
1. Risky Rachel 2. Opus A 3. Lady On the Run
RISKY RACHEL returned faster than ever with two blowout wins in the spring, then tried turf before chasing Roman Treasure (eyeing Friday's Grade 2 Honorable Miss) through a half in 44 seconds; has won last four sprints vs. New York-breds by daylight, beginning with 10-length score here. OPUS A was well back of Risky Rachel in Iroquois, but has been in sharp form ever since, including front-end win over LADY ON THE RUN and GO UNBRIDLED; may want a bit more ground. Lady On the Run is a consistent closer who would benefit from contested pace among Opus A, DEVILISH SPIRIT and HARBOR MIST. The latter, 3 for 3 on wet tracks, moves up if it rains.
Ninth Race
1. Saginaw 2. Fiddlers Afleet 3. Bandbox
SAGINAW has always been a useful sort, but stepped into another league when blinkers came on earlier this year, winning five in a row before trying Met Mile on short rest; best takes it. FIDDLERS AFLEET was no match for Saginaw in their Apr. 29 clash, but can make this rematch with his new stablemate a lot closer if he runs back to lengthy triumph over UNCLE T SEVEN and BE BULLISH off trainer change for D. Jacobson; first Spa appearance since winning 2009 Albany. BANDBOX had trouble vs. DR DISCO and LAW ENFORCEMENT ('09 Morrissey winner) when favored on Aqueduct's inner dirt; three big-figure performances since then.
Tenth Race
1. Dan and Sheila 2. Money in Motion 3. Prince Arion
DAN AND SHEILA was chasing the likes of Hansen and The Lumber Guy in graded stakes not too long ago, and takes a significant drop in class while switching from turf to dirt; call despite post. MONEY IN MOTION is a logical exotics inclusion after six straight in-the-money finishes, with virtually identical figures on fast and wet tracks; only first-place finish was also only start with Ramon Dominguez. PRINCE ARION is turf to dirt, and removes an aluminum pad; capable of shaking loose, particularly if he catches another sloppy track. BIG CREEK is synthetic to dirt after trying a couple of stakes at Woodbine; last N.Y. appearance was against Travers-bound Street Life.
