Penn Gaming Challenge: Charles Town Classic

Saturday's Race of the Day:

G2 Charles Town Classic at Charles Town

Kenny Peck's Pick 4 Analysis

RACE 9: Will take an immediate stand with COUNTRY MAMMA, a winner of four of five starts over this strip, including in her debut, at this distance. She has some early zip but can also rate, and she should find herself in a very good spot behind the pure speeds (1).

RACE 10:  ESTIMATED PROPHET could only manage third in his latest but that was against older allowance runners, making that a better effort than it may appear. CONTROL STAKE has never been over this strip but he gained two-turn sprint experience in his latest, and he ran very well. ARKAYBEE was aided by a loose lead in his latest but there's not a ton of pace in this race, and he could benefit from another forward trip. TO THE VICTOR ships in from Park off a career-best figure and he could be the main danger in the lane (4).

RACE 11: NESSO was sharp this winter at Tampa, and she has the versatility to lead or rate. PRINTASTICAT saw her three-race win streak snapped in her latest but she merits respect here on the strength of her best recent figures. FRIVOLITY also has competitive Beyers, and hails from a red-hot barn. FLATTERING BEA, who won this race last year, has home field advantage, and in fact comes off another win at this track and distance (4).

RACE 12: Not a whole lot of options here. It's never preferred to single a prohibitive favorite in a Pick "X" but leaving SHARED BELIEF off any ticket is folly, and using additional horses may be a simple waste of money. Recent figures tower over these, of course, and it's not even as if an unfavorable race flow could be projected, with a perfect trip behind expected speeds Moreno and Warrioroftheroses likely. He just doesn't appear to be the type of horse to take a stand against (1).

THE PLAY: 4 / 2, 3, 5, 6 / 1, 5, 6, 7 / 4 = 16 Combinations ($8 Ticket)
