Daily Racing Form providing live coverage of Breeders’ Cup
and Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge

New York, NY (Oct 28, 2014Daily Racing Form will provide the first live coverage of the record-setting Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge and expand its Breeders’ Cup racing coverage, including 14 hours of live online coverage from Santa Anita Park.

Fueled by Daily Racing Form’s role as the online Tournament’s exclusive operator, the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge enters its fifth year with a record 275 players competing for over $700,000 in prizes against some of the sharpest tournament players in North America.  DRF’s expanded coverage of the BCBC helped to grow this year’s field size by more than 30% with online qualifying tournaments contributing 79% more players year-over-year.  In addition to DRF’s live event coverage, Daily Racing Form’s Matt Bernier will compete in the tournament and provide on-air tournament updates to NBC Sports Network. Bernier’s $10,000 entry fee has been paid by Daily Racing Form and 100% of his profits will be donated to the Breeders’ Cup designated charity, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA).

Daily Racing Form will also cover Breeders’ Cup racing live from Santa Anita, and a new mobile suite of products will allow players to access coverage wherever they are.  On Friday, the live coverage begins with a 1-hour preview show at 9 a.m. PT, followed by 5 hours of live coverage beginning at 2 pm PT. On Saturday, DRF begins broadcasting at 10:30 a.m. PT with 8 hours of live video reporting.  DRF’s coverage will feature a record number of DRF’s top handicappers and reporters including Mike Watchmaker, Jay Privman, Jay Hovdey, Brad Free, Mike Welsch, Marcus Hersh, Steve Andersen, Marty McGee, Dan Illman, Matt Bernier and Peter Thomas Fornatale.
