Daily Racing Form launches “Saturday Stakes Preview”; New Print & Digital Edition Provides an early look at Stakes Past Performances

New York, NY (March 5, 2015) The Saturday Stakes Preview is a new weekly DRF product that previews the past performances for all major Saturday stakes races. The new publication will provide handicappers with the past performances of horses entered in the Saturdays’ stakes as early as Wednesday evening. This Stakes information across multiple tracks is unique to DRF and has never before been aggregated in one edition.

“Stakes comprise just 4.6% of all races in North America – but occupy a much larger share of the collective consciousness of bettors and racing fans, as well as importance in the sport,” said Mark Simon, Daily Racing Form’s Editorial Director. “Stakes races feature the horses we come to love, follow, and are the races we look forward to every week and every year.”

The issue will include past performances of all horses entered in all major stakes each Saturday, plus related material, data and stories that focus on upcoming stakes races. The past performances will be generated from the early file of entries, and will be arranged in post position order.

The Saturday Stakes Preview will be available online at DRF.com and in print where DRF newspaper is sold. The online version will be available on Wednesday evenings, while the print version will be distributed at tracks and off-track betting sites on Thursdays. The newsprint and online editions will retail for $6.00.

Readers of the Saturday Stakes Preview will be given free access to DRF Plus for two days to stay abreast of all late-breaking news and handicapping information pertaining to the stakes, as well as everything else that is taking place in racing. An access code will be provided.

“Developing new products that improve players’ handicapping and wagering success is a core mission of DRF,” said John Hartig, Daily Racing Form Chairman and CEO. “The Saturday Stakes Preview will serve our customers wherever they’re playing, at the track, at home or on the go.”

A condensed sample of the Saturday Stakes Preview will be inserted into the Friday, March 6 DRF. Readers should look for the first edition of the Saturday Stakes Preview next week, presenting the stakes for Saturday, March 14. It will be on sale next Thursday, March 12 at tracks and off track betting sites.
