Graded Stakes Winners*

For the Charles Town Classic (G2), any horse with a North America, Asian and European Grade 1 win in the preceding 2 years will have their entry and starting fees refunded upon starting.   For all other races carrying a base purse of $100,000 or more, horses with any North American, Asian or European graded or group stakes win in the preceding 2 years will have their entry and starting fees refunded upon starting.

*Will not apply to starts on Penn National event programs.

Owners and trainers running horses and jockeys competing in unrestricted stakes races carrying a purse of at least
$50,000 on the designated event days will accumulate points based on the number of starts they make, as well as where their horses finish.  Points will be calculated on a January 1 -December 31 basis.

For horses owned in partnership or by multiple entities, the only person to accumulate points will be the principle owner. No legal entities including, but not limited to, corporations, limited partnerships or limited liability companies, are not eligible to receive points.  With respect to the Penn Gaming Challenge, the term "owner" should be taken to mean the principle or primary owner.

For each horse an owner or trainer starts or a jockey rides in a one of the unrestricted stakes on a designated event day, they will receive two (2) points.  In addition to the points received for participating, additional points will be awarded for horses finishing in the Top 5 in their race in the following fashion –

Grade 2 Grade 3 UNG UNG UNG UNG
  $200k+ $100k-199k $75k-99k $50k-74k
1st 25 20 20 15 10 5
2nd 20 16 16 12 8 4
3rd 15 12 12 9 6 3
4th 10 8 8 6 4 2
5th 5 4 4 3 2 1

Any dead heats will result in points being split in the same manner the purse would be split (e.g. two horses finishing in a dead heat for 4th in a Grade 3 would each receive 6 points)

The owner, trainer and jockey accumulating the most points at the end of the calendar year will be entitled to:

  1. Two (2) round-trip airfare tickets and a three (3) night stay at Penn National Gaming's M Resort in Las Vegas.
  2. A trophy, made at a presentation at the M Resort.

Additionally, the owner and trainer accumulating the most points at the end of the calendar year will be entitled to the following in the subsequent calendar year:

  1. Entry and starting fees in unrestricted stakes at any Penn National Gaming property, with the exception of Penn National, will be fully refunded upon the horse starting (excluding supplemental fees).  The horse must have made its previous start in that trainer's name or with that owner listed as the principle/primary owner.

Any ties for the top spot in a category will be broken by total earnings in series races.
