NHC 14: At A Glance
WHAT: The finals of the 14th annual Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship.
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, 2013.
WHERE: Treasure Island in Las Vegas will host for the second straight year.
WHO: 459 qualifying players from NTRA-member racetracks, OTBs, casinos, websites, and organizations throughout North America.
WHY: They’re competing for the $750,000 first-place prize and Eclipse Award as Handicapper of the Year.
FORMAT: Players make 15 mythical $2 win-and-place bets on each of the two days, with eight races being mandatory and the other seven being player's choice; contestant makes one "best bet" each day worth $4 win and place, but must be used in a mandatory race; prices capped at $42 to win and $22 to place for scoring purposes.
