Can you post the PP's for Can't Refuse?
Thank you.

I can't refuse your request.  They're available at the bottom of this blog post.

Congrats to Ronald H. for finishing first in last week's HandiGambling exercise.  This week's race is Thursday's third at Santa Anita.

Remember that you have a mythical $100 with which to wager on the race, and the entrant with the highest money total will receive a "Monthly Enhanced 60-Card Past Performance Plan."
Anyone going over the $100 limit will be disqualified.
Please post your plays and analysis to the blog.
Please separate the play from the analysis and label the play "HG" with the program numbers (instead of the horse's name) for easier scoring.
In the event of a tie, the earliest post gets first preference. One entry per person please.
I reserve the right to approve or deny any entries.
I know that there is a time issue for some of you, but let's remember why we began the HandiGambling races in the first place. The goal was to share ideas on why we like these horses, and why we're betting them the way we are. I'm not asking for a novel, but if you could spare a sentence or two outlining your handicapping angles, and thought processes about wagering, it would be appreciated.

Best of luck to all.

Saturday notes.... Winning 18 races is something special... Congrats to RR. Van Savant This friend of mine is a 40 year player of the horses and I was over to help with some moving earlier in the day. We were finished and we opened up the form and together looked over the races at SA. It looked like a formful day in his eyes. We played all races with the early pick 3 and pick 4. We tooled around with the pick 6 with many small ticket's. The ticket that was put together on his Twin Spires account was a simple one. He picked 4 singles in the sequence. I told him if we get to the end, you need to play the all. He spotted the jockey Garcia on the #10. Here was the ticket that was played: 1 / 1 / 3 / 1 / 1 / ALL or 4 / 4 / 1,5,7 / 8 / 4 / 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,10,11,12 Results were = 4-4-1-8-4-10 = $18K This gentleman is a veteran of the vietnam war. He has 5 children. The deal was that we were going into the session with a 50 percent split of everything. After the 5th leg was in, he was so stoked. The trouble was, is that we needed a bomb in the last leg. After the #10 crossed the line, he looked down and could not believe the payoff. I was very happy for both of us. After all was said and done, I told him that I would take $4K and that I would help hime with the taxes. So Van Savant, before you make any wise cracks, let's be happy for my "friend". One of the greatest guys I have ever met. He has been like a father figure to me since my Dad has passed on. He earned this score and I helped out in a little way. He helped out in a major way when I was a little baby by giving up his time for our country. It was the least that I could do.... Whackymacky Out!!!

MH01.......... Was online and took a quick look at the blog......I was looking at the 7th at Belmont at the time so I thought I'd give you my take on it if you don't mind. Well actually it wouldn't matter would it? LOL! The race if off the turf and everyone is scratched.....or so it seems. I liked the horses you picked, though you may have had a bit of a duel between Wascially Wabbit and Tawaared......Deflationary Fears not far behind. I was giving a long look to two horses in there......Lt. John and Judge Well. Lt. John I know personally......nice horse, can't hold his liquor though. As to Judge Well? if you should catch him entered at a mile in the coming week or so it may be a good idea to include him on your exacta tickets.......he'll be a price regardless of where he runs. Patricia Farro will have him placed properly.....she's a good one.......... Yummy With Butter has beaten me twice in the last couple of months.......While speed hasn't been knocking them dead on the turf courses at Belmont...the inner has shown that a good one can carry it further........With Jimmy Simms scratched....that leaves Followmyfootsteps and Mata Keranjang.........Of the two Mata Keranjang was compromised a bit in his last, never getting the lead, being a bit rank and being three wide throughout.......could be a nice exacta horse, especially with Curatolo in the irons. I'm leaning to Yummy with Butter, Boisterous and Mata Keranjang......Yielding course...........should benefit Boisterous the most. I'll see what the exacta's are paying........Good luck today........Mike A

Ron, The class system varies a bit across Europe and Australia. In England, there are 7 classes, with class 1 being Group 1-3 races and some listed races. After that, the classes are 2-7, with 2 being the "best". In Europe, every horse has a rating which determines which races they are currently eligible for. Each of the classes have 2-3 sublevels... for example, a horse with a rating of, say, 90 may run at the bottom sublevel of class 2, where they would receive a weight break, or in class 3, where their assigned weight would vary depending on which sublevel they entered (76-90 or 81-95). "10-15 Kee 9th, DRF race of the day, #2 Together, trained by Aidan O'Brien. His stats for GrdStks (15 .33) $2.25. Are those for North America only?" Yes. Bernard, No strike will take place, as the BHA has agreed to meet with riders instead. The rule seems terribly unpopular... Richard Hannon stands to lose more than anyone if Hughes quits... and he's on the jockey's side. What does that tell you? We're talking about the new age foam whips too, right? So he hit the horse 6 times instead of the allowed 5. In the heat of the moment, I'm sure nobody is keeping count. I hope a reversal is coming...

Bernard Downes, I think American Jocks are allowed 10 whips but its not enforced often . I recall Mike Smith being suspended for overuse of the whip back in the day when he was the man. At this point with flexi-nerf PETA whips you could hit them a thousand times and they won't even know it. I can't speak for anyone else ,buttZ... this US gambler would prefer a rule that said 20 mandatory strikes in the lane. Or better yet every Jock should have to carry a buZZer !!! I'm probably the only guy around here that would admit that though. LOL. Jocks are supposed to have a reason for asking off over here. Pat V's main troubles were because he wouldn't show up on the days he had the Brown Bottle Flu. My team is the USC Trojans . I never bet on their games. To each his own though. Its a good day of racing today . Good luck to Frankel.

Steve T., & don't forget that Seattle Slews' granpappy{Boldnesian} won the '66 SA Derby.... You don't mind if I quote your last comment verbatim, when I write my letter to Jeff Seigel, do you ? I'll also add about Turbulent Descent being probably the best female sprinter in the country. These commenters can't make this stuff up..If you need some extra cash, HRTV is based in Cali., so in my letter I'll ask him if he needs any proof writers, "Hey Jeff, I know a guy named Steve...who can really help you out....."...... It would also help heeding my own advice some times when I'm there live, like again yesterday @ Keeneland..Sure I noticed the horse Lemons on Top, out of Lemon Drop Kid{Slewster}, so I played him underneath w/3 horses on top, & not one stinkin' Win Sticker on top...You shoulda heard me when he nosed me out & paid $51.60 for a deuce........& that was R3, so I woulda had a lot of ammo to start the day......."Please don't let that &%$#ing Slewster beat me..........No, No.." Ugh!! Argh !!>>It was like the Vulcan Death Grip............ Blackstone, R10 @SA, the #1>> SA is too late in the day for me..You know I don't have the Moxie to go there only for that race......LoL........

Belmont Park 10-15-11 saturday R7 #8 Deflationary Fears returns to the grass today ( after being sent to the pompay barn) where he is 50% itm.am thinking ortiz takes him out fast and presses the pace of 1a Tawaared who will have the lead mostly to himself with Wascally Rabbit in close persuit. when Taraared backs up he will take over the lead in the stretch and go on to win. will play him WPS and in the exactas #6 Monastir a deep closer that has the services of solis today cuts back to a mile where he has come up short twice in the past. I think the diference will be solis who has great timing on closers when to push the pedal. he is 11 of 27 placing in the lower spots so use accordingly. #3 Joshua Reynolds dropping to this level today and think that should have this colt in the thick of it thruout and finish strong for lezcano .this colt could take all the marbles today having 3 wins on the grass at 10 tries cant leave off ticket R8 The Knickerbocker Gr3 #4 Boots Ahead this gelding is on a tear lately picking up checks for Weaver with castro having three of his last four wins he will be part of the first tier today and should have something left for the run down the lane. I will use him in all spots on ticket for I feel he is the key to hit the board today #2 Yummy With Butter racing in great form now having won two Gr.3rs in a row this is the chaulk here in this race. garcia goes for belsoeur and is stretching out for this having never been this long raises some doubts if he can get the distance but will use him as well #9 Sleepless Knight the angle for this one is he seems to improve when going from short to longer if you look at his past races this is proven out for breen to use this angle. had his tightner in last so should be set for this race today with rose in the saddle. 7 for 13 in the exacta on the grass is yet another reason to put on the ticket today R9 #4 Thai Haku (IRE) was getting to Unbridled Humor in that mile contest last race and today gets more ground to prove his wares. lezcano had to have learned much about this filly in that race and will have her challenging for the lead down the lane the one to beat #5 Stormy Dixie cant overlook those last two efforts being rated thruout and making her move down the stretch and getting up to win. gets another new jockey today and that alone makes me take a longer look but she seems to adapt to that OK. has had all her wins on the green and think she may lay further back and make her run at the top of the lane #8 Thundering Emilia four starts in this country and has two placings both showing early speed and being outfinished in those races. I think she goes out with Unbridled and pushes that one for the early lead and hangs on for a taste today at a price. Matz is hot right now so think she keeps it going for him R10 #4 Pernice today may be his day to get his picture taken having a slew of ITM finishes on his record today lands in a race he can win on the front end. in that last race I think he missed the break and samyn panicked and rushed him into contention and therefore the fade was in order. that race was also needed after a long layoff so this one should be tight for the dance #5 Nykid Time to Jazz out of lemon drop kid this one does not have any speed early on so think smith will keep him far back for this race and make one long run for his best chance to get the money. that 1 for 14 itm scared the h..l out of me so will use him on the lower spots today at a huge price #3 Star North quite a turn around for this gelding made a big move on the backside to get into contention but ran out of ground in that sprint so Im thinking the extra distance will benifit this one today. also is taking the biggest drop in racing here. good luck all MH01

State breds are a little trickier now that kentucky bred horses can be foaled in Turkmenistan and be called Turkmenistan bred. You have to pay attention to make sure AP Indy didn't sire that Turkmenistanian dog you're about to draw a line through. LOL.

Blackstone: thanks fir Capetown Devil. Tied up with logical horses vertically and horizontally. My picks were spotty but actually showed profit by hitting Wild About Maria in turf race. Missed big score in doubles. Was live to five including winner. Caught favorite instead of $900 lateDD who ran second. Big difference in $2,350 and $150. Can't complain the best horse wonthe finale. Anyone who has anything they I please share.

Betting While The Race Is Being Run. While viewing the Stakes Races from England this morning on TVG, I was amazed to see that they allow betting throughout the entirel running of the race, with odds constantly changing. (You could have bet Frankel at 1-100 with about 100 yards left to go in the race.) I have no idea how the bets are placed or how much you can wager. But if anyone knows I would be interested in how they do this and if it is done at all English tracks.
