Saratoga: Trickmeister remains unbeaten

Email

Maybe they should've entered Trickmeister (4th, $4.20) in the Travers after all. Making his first start since being purchased by IEAH Stables and given over to Rick Dutrow Jr., Trickmeister stretched his record to 4 for 4 after a dominating victory in the Pleasant Colony overnight stakes.

Taking the lead immediately under Garrett Gomez, Trickmeister turned back pace pressure from second choice Our Dark Knight through solid fractions of 23.47, 46.58 and 1:10.41, and was in hand late to score by 11 3/4 lengths over that rival after 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.91.

Trickmeister is being pointed to the Pennsylvania Derby at Philadelphia Park on Sept. 25.

Regal Warrior, Modern Cowboy and Westshore completed the order of finish.
