SARATOGA: Outside bias?

Email

After watching the two outside horses circled the field and finish one-two in the fifth race, is there a chance the wet racetrack is starting to favor horses racing wide and off the pace after speed fared well during the early stages of the card?  Heavenly Blaze finished best of all to register a $27 upset in the first level allowance race for New York breds that was switched from the turf to the main track.  He outfinished the wide running Fight for V LT's who was part of a cavalry charge of four horses within a head of the lead at the eighth pole.

In an unrelated matter,  owner Kenneth Rubinstein has lodged an appeal of the stewards decision to disqualify his Laylaben from first to third in today's opener. Accordinig to the stewards, both horses are now considered winners of the race(for an eligibility standpoint I assume) until the appeal is decided.
