Saratoga: Dead heat for win

Codetta, under Alan Garcia, and Prize Catch, under Cornelio Velasquez, hit the wire together and the photo finish camera could not separate them, giving us the first dead-heat of the meet on Day 21. In the fourth race, there was a dead-heat for third between Phantom Rising and Lily Meadow.

The dead-heat severely hurt the win payoffs for the top two. Codetta, a 9-2 shot, returned $5.80. Prize Catch, the 7-2 second choice, returned $5.

Favorites have taken it on the chin today, with the Todd Pletcher-trained Happy Week ($4), in the fourth, the only favorite to have come in.

Longshots have enjoyed a banner day, including Marvel Gaye ($69), a first time stater sent out by Dallas Stewart.
