Santa Anita: Valenzuela doubles


Jockey Patrick Valenzuela won for the second time in the first three races in Saturday's third race on Kahlua Mist ($6). Trained by Vladimir Cerin, Kahlua Mist led throughout the $12,500 claimer, for non-winners of two lifetime, over 6 1-2 furlongs, winning by a neck over 7-2 Led Advantage.

Imperatriz, the 7-5 favorite, could only finish third.

Valenzuela won Saturday's first race on Take a Yard ($16.40). He has four more mounts today - Leaving New York (9-2 on the morning-line in the upcoming fourth race), California Soldier (5-2) in the sixth, Van Brit (7-2) in the eighth, and Queenofcalifornia (5-2 morning-line favorite) in the ninth.

Through Friday, Valenzuela was third in the jockey's standings.
