Santa Anita: Two claims in 2nd

There were two claims in Friday's second race.

Sleep Tight, who finished third, was claimed in a two-way shake by Jack Carava. Ultra Awesome, who finished fifth, was claimed in a two-way shake by Rafael Becerra.

Miss Peanut ($23) ran down favored Sleep Tight and held off a late threat from She's Very Rare to win the race for $16,000 claimers.

Miss Peanut ran six furlongs in 1:09.92, finishing a nose in front of She's Very Rare. Sleep Tight, the 4-5 favorite, led on the turn, but could not sustain the advantage and was beaten a neck for second.

Miss Peanut was trainer Silverio Martinez and jockey Antonio Castanon's first winners of the meeting. The early double returned $61.40 after Brace Yourselves ($4.60) won the first race.
