Santa Anita: Track is fast

The win by Bulldogger ($4) in Thursday's second race confirmed that the Santa Anita main track is fast despite approximately 1.2 inches of rain late Tuesday and Wednesday.

Bulldogger ran six furlongs in 1:08.62, winning an allowance race by 1 1-4 lengths over pacesetter Streakin' Mohican. Uh Oh Bango, unraced since a fourth-place finish in the Arkansas Derby last April, finished third in the field of five.

Bulldogger, ridden by Rafael Bejarano, had not started since finishing fifth in the Jimmy V Stakes at Churchill Downs last November.

In the first race, a field of maiden claimers needed 1:46.02 to run 1 1-16 miles. The race was won by Captain Beau ($5.80).
