Santa Anita: Super high 5 pays $4,830

Sunday's $1 super high five paid $4,830 after 9-5 favorite Resplendently rallied wide to catch Our Last Monte in the final strides of a maiden claimer over 5 1-2 furlongs.

Resplendently ($5.60) and Our Last Monte were followed by Gifted Student (6-1), Indiana Nana (8-1) and K. Jems (46-1) in the field of 11.

Sunday's super high five began with a carryover of more than $46,000 from Saturday. Bettors added $129,526 to the pool on Sunday.

Even with a carryover, the super high five in Sunday's last race was not as popular as the superfecta, which is offered in denominations as low as 10 cents. The bet drew a pool of $156,662 in Sunday's last race, and returned $349.90 for $1.

There was a claim from the last race. Naturaliste, a Siant Liam colt making his debut, was claimed for $20,000 in a two-way shake by Doug O'Neill. Naturaliste finished sixth.
