Santa Anita: Sharp win for 'Miles'

Miles Rules, unraced since September, made a successful comeback in a six-furlong allowance race in Thursday's seventh race at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, his second winner of the day, Miles Rules ($7) set a scorching pace of 21.25 and 43.74 seconds, leading by 1 1-2 lengths on the turn. She held a trailing field of seven and won by 1 3-4 lengths over Subpoena the Dress, finishing in a quick 1:08.98.

Trained by Clifford Sise, Miles Rules had not started since finishing third in the Generous Portion Stakes for 2-year-old statebred fillies at Del Mar, but had worked quickly in recent weeks. She was the 15-1 winner of a maiden race at Hollywood Park last July in her debut for owner-breeder Ted Aroney's Halo Farms.
