Santa Anita: Runner-up is claimed

Honor Among Us, second by a nose in Saturday's third race, was claimed by trainer Danny Velasquez for $30,000.

Honor Among Us traded leads with 9-5 favorite Classy Lion in the stretch and just missed winning the maiden claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs. Classy Lion was timed in 1:15.53 on a day when times have been fast on the main track.

Honor Among Us is winless in three starts, and was fifth and third in his first two starts. He was trained by Janet Armstrong for his first three starts.

Destined Journey, a 129-1 shot, was pulled up in the stretch. According to jockey Kerwin John, the 3-year-old gelding took a bad step and was pulled up, track stewards said.
