Regally Ready won his first stakes in Friday's Joe Hernandez Stakes, and was able to dictate the race throughout about 6 1-2 furlongs on the hillside turf course.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Regally Ready ($3) set a relatively slow pace of 22.50 and 44.88 seconds, pulled away from closest pursuer Gallant Son and won by 1 3-4 lengths over Leroy's Dynameaux, who was fifth and sixth in the first half of the race.

Regally Ready, by More Than Ready, has now won 3 of 4 starts in turf sprints for trainer Steve Asmussen He is a candidate for the San Simeon Handicap on the hillside turf course on April 16.
