Santa Anita: Pick six is hit

There were two winning tickets in Monday's pick six, each worth $54,971.

Going into the ninth and final leg, the only horse covered in the pick six was 4-5 favorite Syllabus. Ridden by Joel Rosario, Syllabus rolled around most of the field in the final three furlongs to win the $12,500 claimer over 5 1-2 furlongs by 2 1-4 lengths.

Syllabus was the only winning favorite in the pick six. The fifth race was won by Bourbon Bay, the second choice in the betting.

Earlier in the day, the pick six  proved difficult, with upset wins by Granite Girl ($23.40) and Indian Winter ($22).

Racing resumes at Santa Anita on Thursday at 1 p.m., with an eight-race program.
