Santa Anita: Pick 6 pool soars

In pursuit of a pick six carryover of $115,583, bettors added $729,727 to the pool at Santa Anita on Sunday.

Many tickets were still alive after the first leg, which was won by the heavily favored Lady Alex ($3). Lady Alex won the one-mile turf race for $28,000 for $32,000 claimers by 2 1-4 lengths over 4-1 Bellini Bliss.

The fifth race was won by Runaway Wildcat, who was 7-2 on the morning-line and was bet down to 8-5, scoring by three-quarters of a length over Dancing At Dark. Runaway Wildcat ran six furlongs in 1:09.09 in a $28,000 to $32,000 claimer for 3-year-olds.

Lady Alex was claimed in a five-way shake by Robertino Diodoro for $32,000. The 5-year-old mare has won 6 of 19 starts, and was third in the B. Thoughtful Stakes for statebred fillies and mares at Hollywood Park last spring.
