Santa Anita: Pick 6 pays $2,429

Sunday's pick six paid $2,429 on a day when favorites won four of the pick six races.

The bet began with a carryover of $115,583 from Saturday. Bettors added $729,727 to the pool on Sunday.

The winners of the pick six races were Lady Alex ($3), Runaway Wildcat ($5.40), Screaming Regal ($4.80), Uncle Sam ($10.40), Amazombie ($9.20) and Nice Meidel ($7.40).

All but Uncle Sam and Amazombie were favored.

The winning payoff in the pick six fell from a probable payoff of approximately $5,500 to $2,429 after Silver Luna, who was 7-2 in early betting for the ninth race, was scratched after becoming injured in the receiving barn. Tickets that included Silver Luna but did not mark an alternate selection, where available, reverted to the post time favorite, Nice Meidel. There were 208 winning tickets.

Nice Meidel was claimed for $30,000 by trainer Jack Carava. Nice Meidel won a maiden race over 6 1-2 furlongs in her second start, and first  appearance since last July.
