Santa Anita: Margins - nose, nose

The margins separating the first three finishers in Saturday's third races were a nose between winner Warren's Tony R. ($12.80) and runner-up Adam Suances, and another nose back to third-place finisher He's a Dance Star, the 5-2 second choice.

Warren's Tony R., racing as a geldling for the first time, won the allowance race over about 6 1-2 furlongs on the hillside turf course in 1:14.39 on a course rated good by a slight amount of overnight rain. Red Scare, the 5-2 favorite, was in contention on the hillside, but was not a factor through the stretch and finished fourth of 10.

Warren's Tony R. made his first start for trainer Ted H. West, having been claimed for $25,000 on Jan. 30.
