Friday's seventh race, an allowance race on the hillside turf course, was won by Saanneen ($12). but the race featured a bumping incident in the stretch involving third-place finisher Separate Forest that led to a steward's inquiry and a severe injury suffered by 5-2 second choice Magic Launch.

Saanneen finished a half-length in front of Good Vibration, with Separate Forest a neck behind Good Vibration. In early stretch. Separate Forest took up when pacesetter S C Song Girl drifted out at the same time that Saaneen moved to the inside, forcing jockey Patrick Valenzuela to check Separate Forest.

In addition to the steward's inquiry, Trainer Doug O'Neill, who trains Separate Forest, claimed foul against race winner Saanneen. After a six-minute review, the stewards ruled that the order of finish would not be changed.

The injury to Magic Launch happened separate to the inquiry. In early stretch, Magic Launch was pulled up with a severe injury to her right foreleg. A 6-year-old mare, she had 7 wins in 20 starts. Magic Launch was the second horse injured on turf on Friday; third race winner Resplendently was vanned off.
