Santa Anita: Folk Dancer speeds to victory

Email

Folk Dancer outclassed four rivals to win a six-furlong race for $50,000 claimer by 4 1-4 lengths in the quick time of 1:08.95 in Friday's second race.

Ridden by Christian Santiago Reyes, Folk Dancer ($4.20) led throughout and won easily over Euro Gal.  Folk Dancer, owned by the humorously named Slow-Pay Stable, has won 3 of 4 starts. After winning a maiden claimer at Calder last July, he won his debut for trainer Vladimir Cerin here in a starter allowance on Jan. 29 and finished fifth in an optional claimer on March 4.

Gambling Pokerface, who finished fourth in a field of five, was claimed by Bill Spawr.
