Santa Anita: Fast, wet conditions

Courtside led throughout Sunday's first race, and set very fast fractions on a sloppy, and sealed, main track.

Ridden by leading rider Joel Rosario, Courtside ($7.40) set fractions of 20.77 and 42.77 seconds for the six-furlong race, and finished in 1:07.84, winning by 5 1-4 lengths over Cat in the Forest in the field of five. Jockey Patrick Valenzuela described the surface as "hard and fast" after riding Cat in the Forest.

Rain began falling after sunrise and has continued intermittently in recent hours. Shortly after Sunday's first race, a steady rain fell.
