Santa Anita: Diodoro is a busy man

After claiming first race winner Dapper Gene, trainer Robertino Diodoro was in the winner's circle in Monday's second race with Job Boss ($16).

Job Boss was Diodoro's fifth win of the meeting, with his 32nd starter. The 36-year-old trainer is based at Northlands Park in Edmonton, Canada, has 17 horses at Santa Anita this winter and plans to keep a 15-horse stable here this summer.

Job Boss won the $20,000 claimer by a half-length over Dontmesroundwitjim, who was one of three horses claimed in the field of five.

Dontmesroundwitjim was claimed by Doug O'Neill in a two-way shake. Trainer Bob Hess, Jr., claimed two horses - third-place finisher Woodland Rebel in a two-way shake and fourth-place finisher Self Insured.

The field was reduced from six to five runners with three minutes to post when 17-1 Woodland Flood was withdrawn after apparently being kicked or stepped on by a pony, according to track stewards.
