Santa Anita: Claims in first two


There were claims in the first two races on Thursday, though neither winner was taken.

In the first race, Brite Dreamer, third as the 4-5 favorite, was claimed for $40,000 by Rafael Becerra. The race for maidens was won by Mandated Bliss ($25.80), who was ridden by Christian Santiago Reyes for trainer Kathy Walsh. Reyes won the Sunland Park Derby last Sunday with Twice the Appeal, who is expected to make his next start in the Kentucky Derby.

In the seconnd race, runner-up Job Boss was claimed for $20,000 in a two-way shake by trainer Doug O'Neill. Warrens Summergold, who finished third, was claimed by Jeff Mullins. The race over a mile for older horses was won by Time for Atonement ($10.80), who beat Job Boss by a half-length.
