Santa Anita: Carryover possible

Email

Indian Winter pulled an upset in Monday's seventh race as the longest shot in the field, increasing the chances of a pick six carryover for Thursday's eight-race program.

Through the first four legs, there have been no winning favorites. Aside from Indian Winter, who returned $22, the winners of the pick six races were Granite Girl ($23.40), Warren's Knockout ($9.60) and Take a Hard Look ($12.60).

Indian Winter won the San Pedro Stakes by a half-length over an unlucky City Cool, who was seeking his second stakes win. Trained by Steve Asmussen, City Cool won the Riley Allison Futurity at Sunland Park on Dec. 28.

Indian Winter, third in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity on Sept. 8, may return for the $150,000 San Vicente Stakes for 3-year-olds over seven furlongs.
