Santa Anita: Career-best for Vision

Vision in Gold ran the best race of her career in Thursday's sixth race, an optional claimer over 1 1-16 miles.

Sent off as the 4-5 favorite, Vision in Gold, who is trained by Ron Ellis, swooped three rivals in early stretch and won by 4 1-4 lengths over Siberian Heart in 1:42.48 under jockey Joel Rosario. The win ended a four-race losing streak that included fifth-place finishes in the Grade 3 Railbird Stakes and Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks last spring and second-place finishes in allowance races or optional claimers at Hollywood Park in the fall.

The win may lead to a start in the La Canada Stakes for 4-year-old fillies on Feb. 13, although that would likely mean a rendezvous with division leader Blind Luck.
