Santa Anita: 9-1 shot opens pick 6


Harborton, winless in his first five starts, pulled his act together in Sunday's fourth race to post an 9-1 upset in the first leg of a pick six, that attracted a pool of $796,915. The bet featured a carryover of $128,668 from Saturday.

Ridden by Alonso Quinonez, Harborton ($21.80) had been fourth in his last two starts, having raced in Minnesota and Oklahoma last year. In Sunday's race, he caught 3-2 favortie Silver Luna in the final furlont to win the $30,000 claiming race for maidens by 1 1-4 lengths. Trained by Gary Stute, Harborton ran seven furlongs in 1:21.40.
