Santa Anita: A $75,000 claim

Pink Blanket was an unlucky second in Friday's fourth race for 3-year-old maiden claiming fillies, but was claimed for $75,000 by trainer Doug O'Neill on behalf of a partnership.

Pink Blanket, the 9-5 favorite, broke slowly, about two lengths behind the field, and was quickly rushed into the sprint over 5 1-2 furlongs by jockey Rafael Bejarano. Pink Blanket was second after a quarter-mile of 21.55 seconds, stalking Queenofcalifornia by about a length. Racing two-wide, Pink Blanket, took the lead in early stretch, but could not hold off a late run from Top Debutante ($16.80), who had an ideal trip with a wide rally.

Top Debutante was timed in 1:03.02, winning for trainer Kory Owens. Both Top Debutante and Pink Blanket were making their first starts.

Top Debutante, by Top Hit, is a half-sister to the multiple stakes winner Ez Dreamer, who starts in Friday's seventh race at Santa Anita.
