Remington: Stakes action starts in upcoming fifth


Remington Park in Oklahoma City is putting on its biggest Quarter Horse program of the meet tonight, with major stakes scheduled from the fifth through 11th races. The main events are the Grade 1, $1 million Heritage Place Futurity, which drew the nation's top-ranked 2-year-old, Mighty B Valiant, and the Grade 1, $250,000 Remington Park Invitational Championship, led by the nation's top-ranked older horse, Louisiana Senator.

It is sunny and 90 degrees at Remington, where the track is listed as fast. Below are known changes for the stakes:

FIFTH Race: Grade 3, $50K Junos Request; SCRATCH No. 7, Coronas Fast Prize

SIXTH: $75K Heritage Place Juvenile; SCRATCH No. 3, Big Chop, and No. 5, Valiant Chic; Make the rider on the No. 1A, Tel a Story, Stormy Smith

SEVENTH: Grade 3, $75K Remington Park Distance Championship; No Scratches

EIGHTH: Grade 1, $245K Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity; SCRATCH No. 5, Sunday Sputnik; and No. 8, Fly Shari Fly

NINTH: Heritage Place Derby; No Scratches

10th: Grade 1, $1,029,950 Heritage Place Futurity; No Scratches

11th: Grade 1, $250K Remington Park Invitational Championship; No Scratches
