Race 6: Return of Sing Baby Sing, Golden Yank

The upcoming sixth race, an allowance over six furlongs, drew a stakes-quality field. It will mark the first start since October for Sing Baby Sing, and the first start since May for Golden Yank. Both horses are multiple stakes winners. Adding depth to the field is Orphan Brigade, another multiple stakes winner who owns one of the year's best Beyer Figures for a sprint distance, a 104, which he put up here April 8.

Another who will get good support is Normandy Shore, who two starts back was second to Fifteen Love, a nice regional stakes horse who won the $100,000 Maxxam Gold Cup at Sam Houston one start after meeting Normandy Shore. Last month, Fifteen Love was also third in the Grade 3, $200,000 Texas Mile.

Sing Baby Sing comes into the allowance off a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap at Aqueduct. His trainer, Jack Bruner, won the second race this afternoon with Spring Blues ($14.80) while his other starter on the card was edged late. Bruner also won the fifth race here yesterday, with Supreme Zoom. Sing Baby Sing is currently 2-5.
