Oaklawn: Uncle Brent second to 4YO

Uncle Brent finished second by about a half-length to 4-year-old Ask Eddy ($15.20) in the 10th race, which was Uncle Brent's first start at two turns. Uncle Brent, a 3-year-old who had run the fastest six furlongs of the Oaklawn meet in February, was the 4-5 favorite Sunday. He was coming off a front-running maiden special weight win in 1:09.40, but took a different approach going a mile. He broke out at the start of the race, and moved to the rail while taking a good deal of dirt as he trailed the field early. Uncle Brent launched a three-wide move around the final turn, put in a nice bid through the lane and was second to his older rival, who covered the distance in 1:38.49.
